Get More Time by Giving Time to Yourself

THE specific BLOG

Dr. Chris Collins

Ever feel like you can barely show up in your life because your energy is depleted or you’re having one of those seasons where you’re just sad for no apparent reason?

No? Just me?

When was the last time you set uninterrupted time for yourself?

It can feel difficult to be selfish about your time, especially if you’re a parent.

There are so many demands and to do lists, (whether on paper or in your brain) that hitting an internal pause can feel unattainable.

You deserve to thrive, not just survive.

Can I tell you a secret?

When you give time to yourself, you can actually give more meaningful time to others.

I can almost certainly say that what you’re missing is space, silence, and rejuvenation.

A car can’t run on empty, and neither can you!

Have you ever noticed after a good, restful vacation:

  • You’re less irritated and less overwhelmed?
  • You actually want to make plans with people because you have capacity to catch up and be emotionally present?
  • You crave exercise because your body is rejuvenated?
  • You look at your kids or partner and have gratitude for the mundane moments?

This isn’t a coincidence. It is because you gave your soul space to breathe and time to turn off.

In case you haven’t given yourself permission to do something for yourself, here it is.

You’re doing great.
